This page should remain whatever happens after the delete operations - its a page to be kept inside a category that is also to be kept.
below are the publication maps deposited in Design mode for the first batch and in Rawcontent mode for second batch. Results shown first:
RESULTS: All OK after initial publication. All links work OK and point to all the right places.
FIRST SUBSEQUENT ACTION: Page marked for deletion deleted.
RESULTS: PAGES Deleted page is gone on all expected links - user is dumped to Home
SECOND SUBSEQUENT ACTION: Category marked for deletion deleted
RESULTS: All results are as would be expected for pages gone and category gone/pages gone: no pages are displayed and Home is triggered. On the interesting situation "cat gone-page not" the page is still displayed but the results are different for Design and Rawcontent. For Design the full path is still shown in the breadcrumb trail, but its the path is shown for the category undeleted. For Rawcontent the category is deleted from the breadcrumb. So Design apparently shows a "false trail" but there is no trail at all shown for Rawcontent. In fact Design tries to find any version of the page and if it succeeds shows the first instance it finds of it in the publication tree. This is where one would expect it to be. Rawcontent knows the page exists but as the category has gone it therefore decides to show the page on its own because Rawcontent cannot satisfy the path information. So, in reality, Rawcontent's display of the path is really not as accurate as that in Design because the file is actually where Design finds it !!. Anyway lets see by taking a site mirror what has actually happened on the site.
Site mirror taken using HTTTrack completed around 21:00 (5 hours or so). Then "Category For Keeping" on site hidden by republishing.
