The Smugglers Den is on my birth certificate as my parents address in 1965
I have lived out of England for more than 30 years, while I had to go back for my mum every three months for the last 4 years the Smugs was my life line, you are all the best to me and I love you all......................
I remember the Smugglers when I was a little girl. My Mum & Dad had a caravan on the site there. They were Frank & Molly Vincent my sister is Julie.
Thanks, Richard. Quite happy to edit for libel, and other lawful purposes - sounds interesting!
Re. posting of my memories on the site....This would be fine, but you may need to edit. (I am not too sure about libel laws etc.,...though I don't think they would apply to repeating stories which were in common circulation at the time? R.F.D.
Richard, many thanks for your comment. Re: your forthcoming notes on Hullbridge, would you be willing to post any of these (or perhaps extracts) on our site? Best wishes, Helen
I have many memories of using the Smugglers between about 1951 and 1960.These should appear in my forthcoming notes about early Hullbridge days. R.F.Dobson.
