Does anyone have any recollections of anyone in this photo or any other memories of Rochford Primary School?

My fondest memory of Mr Baltrop in his office when I explained that I had left my football boots at the bus stop at Brays Lane. He gave me two pennies to go back on the next bus and get them. So happy to see them there!

At aged nine, can you imagine that happening nowadays.

I remember Mr Barltrop. I am amused to recall you would smell his pipe before way before he would actually appear. (Imagine that nowadays :o)

I can remember Mr McDowell, Mr Daily, Mrs Brazier, Mrs Lowe and my two favourite's Mr Hawes and Mrs Jarvis.  Oh and not to forget Mr Coppin, the Caretaker who used to do that trick with his bucket of water.

Mr Barltrop looks exactly as I remember him, I was at Rochford Primary from 1959 to 1964, another teacher was Miss Bultz, from South Africa.

I remember him well, he was the headmaster when I was there between 1955 until summer 1961. He lived in the house next door to the school and he used to drive a Vauxhall (Velox ?). Whoever was near the school gate had to open it and let him in or out whatever way he was going. I seem to remember that he was a very upright man, quite strict but fair. The secretary's name was Miss/Mrs Humphreys/ Humphries and some of the teachers names I remember too were Mrs Brazier, Mrs Jones and Mr McDowell (not sure of the spelling though). I don't recognise anyone else in the photo as it was 13 yrs earlier that I left there. Many happy memories from those days though although I forget some of the names ...
