Schooling in Rochford in the 1950s

Looking for people who went to Rochford Primary or Secondary in the 1950s

By Teri-Ann Twine

I've recently discovered that there was a serious overcrowding problem in Rochford Schools in the 1950s. Additional accommodation was hired, which was mostly unsuitable and isolated classes from the main school buildings.  In addition, class sizes were very large, some in excess of 50 pupils.

I am currently researching for a possible article on the subject.  If anyone reading this went to Rochford Primary or Secondary Modern between 1952 and 1962 and would like to share their own experiences, I would love to hear your stories.
